Dave Ward
Dave joined the Collective to take care of administration and communication.
Like Roy he comes from an unchurched background and came to faith as an older child during a “beach mission” in the seaside town in Kent where he grew up.
He has been a teacher, a youth worker, worked as a minister and church leader and spent a few years as a civil servant before heading up a storytelling project which was a partnership between Northumbria Community and Bible Society. Before retiring he ran a small, wide-ranging consultancy business focused on training, computer maintenance and media.
Dave is married to Wendy, a CBT therapist, and lives in beautiful south Northumberland. He has five adult children and (currently) six grandchildren.
Although not as active as he was, he still enjoys the great outdoors, is fascinated by prehistory, ancient history, and philosophy, reads a lot of contextual and practical theology, and enjoys Asian food and great coffee. His spiritual journey has been influenced by Contemplative, Benedictine and Celtic spirituality, Orthodox theology, free church ecclesiology, the Northumbria Community and 24-7 Prayer international.
